Miniroos and Graded Junior teams play their first games of the season on the weekend, while the Thunder play the second round of the Bert Bampton Cup on Saturday and the Thunderbirds are in the finals of the Bonnie Lassie Cup on Sunday.

The Thunder and GPR Community League teams play on Saturday, and the Women’s Youth League and Division 3 Thunderbirds have round one fixtures on Sunday.

However, there are some changes to game day protocols that need to be observed by players, coaches, parents and other spectators due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

These are intended to assist with hygiene, social distancing and contact tracing.

The key points are:

  • Use hand sanitiser - Thirroul JFC has installed hand sanitiser stations at Gibson Park

  • Maintain 1.5m distance from other spectators or on the bench

  • Limited or no dressing room access for teams (toilets will be open)

  • No sharing of drink bottles

  • Avoid swapping playing shirts or bibs during matches or at training

  • Keep an attendance register for matches and training
