Thirroul Junior Football Club has more than 400 juniors in teams from Under 6s to Under 18s. Thirroul JFC would like to express our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family, friends and team-mates of Thunderbirds player Emma Joubert.

Emma, 26, sadly passed away in her sleep at home on Thursday morning after a brave battle with cancer.

Her infectious smile will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing Emma or playing alongside her in the Third Birds and other teams since she joined the club in 2006.

Emma played until earlier this season when she was initially diagnosed with cancer and she continued to be involved with her team.

The Joubert family has a long association with Thirroul JFC, with Sandon and Tegan also playing for the club.

On behalf of everyone involved with Thirroul JFC, we would like Evie, Craig, Sandon and Tegan to know that they have our full and ongoing support.
